🌺 Honoring Our Past, Serving Our Future: Filipino American History Month
Every October, we celebrate Filipino American History Month — a time to honor the resilience, sacrifices, and contributions of the Filipino community in the United States. From the early sakadas who labored in Hawaii’s sugarcane fields to the brave Filipino veterans who fought in World War II, and the countless families who continue to shape culture, education, business, and service today — our story is one of courage, community, and hope.
This celebration is not only about remembering history. It is also about recognizing the living spirit of bayanihan — the Filipino tradition of coming together, lending hands, and lifting each other up. That same spirit inspires Barkada Tumulong, an organization born out of friendship and compassion, dedicated to extending meaningful support to those facing life’s toughest challenges.
Barkada Tumulong’s mission is simple yet powerful:
To bring light and comfort to children battling cancer.
To provide stability and care for foster youth.
To stand with families navigating hardship, reminding them they are never alone.
To foster justice, dignity, and equality by honoring every person’s humanity.
In celebrating Filipino American History Month, Barkada Tumulong stands as a bridge between our heritage and our future — showing that the same spirit of resilience that carried our ancestors across oceans continues today through acts of kindness, service, and solidarity.
✨ “Every hand held. Every voice heard. Every gift honored.”
As we honor Filipino American History this October, let us also commit ourselves to creating a history worth celebrating for generations to come — one of community, compassion, and shared triumph.
